Manila Tytana Colleges (Tytana) is committed to protect the privacy of its data subjects and to ensure the safety and security of personal data under its control and custody. In line with this, Tytana hereby sets out the following information on the website privacy policy for the guidance of all, in accordance with the RA No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations. This explains how Tytana handles the personal collected both thru our website and the third-party site that Tytana connects to that may also collect personal data.

Definition of Terms

  • Personal information – refers to any information, whether recorded in a material form or not, from which the identity of an individual is apparent or can be reasonably and directly ascertained by the entity holding the information, or, when put together with other information, would directly and certainly identify an individual.

  • Sensitive personal information – refers to personal information:

  1. About an individual’s race, ethnic origin, marital status, age, color, and religious, philosophical or political affiliations;

  2. About an individual’s health, education, genetic or sexual life, or to any proceeding for any offense committed or alleged to have been committed by such person, the disposal of such proceedings, or the sentence of any court in such proceedings;

  3. Issued by government agencies peculiar to an individual which includes, but not limited to, social security numbers, previous or current health records, licenses or its denials, suspension or revocation, and tax returns; and

  4. Specifically established by an executive order or an act of Congress to be kept classified.

Information Collected

Tytana may collect the following information when you use this website:

  1. When accessing the MyTytana Student Portal, the student number and access code of the students are collected for login purposes.

  2. When opening the Alumni Profile Update Form, the email address and password are collected for login purposes. When registering, the form collects the following information: last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, course, date graduated, and email address. These information, which comprise both personal and sensitive personal information, are gathered only when the alumnus/na submits the accomplished form.

  3. When accessing the Employee Portal, the employee number and birth date of the employees are collected for login purposes.

  4. When accessing the Online Admission Portal, the applicant’s email address and birth date are collected for login purposes. To create an account, a separate data privacy policy and consent is specified for the personal and sensitive information collected.

  5. When accessing the Library or the Tytana Learning Resource Center WEBOPAC, the student number and name of student are collected for login purposes.

  6. When browsing the website, system log files are collected and maintained. The computers that hold the Tytana website keep a minimum set of system logs that allows the College to tune and protect the services offered and to determine general usage patterns. The College keeps this information within the period needed to meet these objectives. The information collected consists of: name of the internet domain from which guests access our website, the date and time of visit, and the internet address (IP number) of the website from which guests linked selected Information (like browser type) in logs.

Information Sharing

Tytana may share the collected information in the following events:

  1. When required to respond by law or by legal processes

  2. To uphold the safety and security of the information collected from users and the data subjects

  3. When interacting with third-party service providers that may host or support services and maintain databases. With such cases, Tytana and the service provider will be subject to a written agreement, in accordance with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act of 2012. These written agreements or contracts will incorporate the rights and obligations of each party, the requirements for the third party to specify adequate security measures to protect the information as well as the detailed scope of work to limit the use of the information subject to proper approval and consent.

Security

Tytana uses adequate security measures to safeguard the collected information from loss, theft misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Proper organizational, administrative, and technical processes and procedures are done to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of this information.

Retention of Information

Tytana retains the personal data until it serves its purpose as specified in this Privacy Policy, after which it shall be securely disposed of.

Data Subject's Rights

All data subjects have the right to be informed, object to processing, access and rectify, suspend or withdraw his/her personal data, including, any such information held by third parties, with whom Tytana has a data sharing agreement; and be indemnified in case of damages pursuant to the provisions of the Data Privacy of 2012.

Personal Information of Other Data Subjects

If guest provides personal information to the website regarding other data subjects or individuals, it is required that the said guest inform the data subject about the Privacy Policy of the website and acquire any legally-required consent for the collection, use, disclosure, and transfer of the personal information about the data subject in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Data Privacy of 2012.

Personal Information of Minors

The services on this website are generally intended for individuals 18 years of age and older. In the event that the information to be collected by or contributed to Tytana is that of a minor, prior consent from the parent or legal guardian should be obtained in compliance with Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Tytana’s website in general. However, the College may update this policy from time to time. There may be cases where there is a need to stipulate a specific privacy policy and this will be clearly identified. Guests are advised to review this Privacy Policy for each visit to the website to stay informed of the privacy practices.
